Safeguarding is a term used in the United Kingdom to denote measures to protect the health, well-being and human rights of individuals, especially children, young people and vulnerable adults. These measures allow them to live free from abuse, harm and neglect. Safeguarding refers to the process of protecting children, young people and adults and promotes safe and effective care processes.
