Our aim is to Empower staff with skills to stay safe and protect those they care for.

Ignite Training Wales – “Igniting Skills, Inspiring Change.”

At Ignite Training Wales, we understand the challenges that staff face when caring for vulnerable individuals, at times behaviours that can become physically challenging, aggressive, or dangerous. Our one-day Physical Intervention course is designed to give your team the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to respond safely, effectively, and within legal frameworks.

Why this training matters?

Physical intervention must only ever be used as a last resort, but when it is needed, staff must be equipped to act confidently, safely, and in line with legislation and best practice. Our training helps organisations reduce risk, meet regulatory standards, and protect both staff and the individuals they support.

What’s included in the course?

✔️ The legal framework – understanding restrictive practices, reasonable force, Human Rights, and Welsh Government guidance.
✔️ Children’s legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to residential services in Wales, with special mention to the UNRCR
✔️ Personal safety, and de-escalation strategies to reduce the need for intervention.
✔️ Medically audited, non-harmful, and least-restrictive intervention techniques.
✔️ Practical demonstrations, hands-on learning, and scenario-based exercises tailored to your service.
